Floette
Floette is a fragile but annoying support piece: a Fairy STAB that chips your Dragons and Dark-types, plus utility in the form of speed control, redirection support, and Symbiosis item-passing to a partner. It won't sweep you, but it enables the mon that will, and its Fairy typing walls a lot of the format's Dragon offense.
Don't tunnel the Floette while its partner sets up — it's bait. It's frail enough that it looks like a free KO, but the turn you spend on it is the turn its partner uses to snowball. And don't send your Dragon in front of it expecting to click a STAB; Moonblast is super-effective and can drop your Special Attack.
Incineroar's Fake Out stops Floette's support turn dead, Intimidate softens its physical partner, and it resists nothing-special from Floette while threatening real damage. Denying the support turn is worth more than the KO.
Steel resists Fairy, so Moonblast barely dents Archaludon while it fires back with a strong STAB. Floette can't threaten it, which frees Archaludon to pressure the partner Floette is trying to enable.
Kingambit is Dark (so it hates Fairy) but its Steel coverage — Iron Head — is super-effective into Floette and OHKOs the frail support. Just don't click a Dark move into it; use the Steel coverage.
Floette is glue for a real threat — a setup sweeper it feeds items to via Symbiosis, or a partner it provides redirection/speed control for. Identify and pressure the partner; a Floette with nothing to support is just a frail Fairy.
Every answer on this card was checked against the live learnset and roster data shown above — a citation that no longer holds is dropped, not shown. Type-based answers are computed from base stats and STAB. Speed is the real level-50 maximum. This is deterministic and sourced — no guesses.
