Archaludon

SteelDragonAssault Vest special wall / Electro Shot pivot

Archaludon's 600 BST spreads into real bulk on both sides, and Stamina turns every physical hit into a Defense boost. With Assault Vest it eats special attacks too, then fires Electro Shot, Draco Meteor, and Flash Cannon off strong Special Attack. It sits at a comfortable 85 Speed and is hard to break one-on-one.

Don't chip it with weak physical contact — every hit it survives raises Defense via Stamina, so you're feeding the exact stat that makes it unbreakable. And don't rely on repeated special attacks into an Assault Vest set; you need a super-effective Ground/Fighting hit or a status/redirection plan, not a war of attrition.

Good answers
Arcanine
ArcanineSnarl

Archaludon does most of its damage specially. Snarl drops its Special Attack each time, so Electro Shot and Draco Meteor stop threatening your side while your Ground/Fighting partner sets up the KO.

Gallade
GalladeClose Combat

Fighting is super-effective and Gallade's Sharpness-boosted or Close Combat hits ignore the special bulk from Assault Vest entirely — you're attacking Defense, which even Stamina can't raise faster than a 4x-effective hit.

Rhyperior
RhyperiorEarthquake

Ground is super-effective and physical, so Assault Vest does nothing to soften it. Rhyperior's own bulk lets it trade into Archaludon's physical options while Earthquake threatens the OHKO on chip.

Common partners
Pelipper (rain)

Under rain Archaludon's Electro Shot fires instantly (no Power Herb needed) and its Water weakness is patched by the rain-boosted partner offense. If you see Pelipper alongside it, prioritize removing the rain or the Ground/Fighting answer, because a free-firing Electro Shot changes the math.
