Victory Points (VP)

VP is the main currency in Pokemon Champions. You spend it to recruit Pokemon, train stat points, change moves, natures, and abilities, and buy Mega Stones. You earn VP from Ranked Battles for both wins and losses, plus some missions. VP cannot be bought directly, so every point comes from playing.

Earn VP by laddering. A win pays more than a loss, but a loss still pays, so every ranked battle moves your budget forward.

Currency 02

Quick Coupons

Recruiting a Pokemon starts a wait timer. Each Quick Coupon you spend cuts that wait by one hour, so you can skip ahead instead of waiting or paying VP. You earn Quick Coupons from daily, weekly, and starter missions, and from the battle tutorials. New accounts also get a stack as an early-download bonus, delivered with a Dragonite in the in-game Mailbox.

Save Quick Coupons for the Pokemon you actually want to battle with now. There is no reason to skip a timer on a Pokemon you are only testing.

Currency 03

Training Tickets

Training a Pokemon normally runs on a timer. Training Tickets skip that wait and apply the stat boost immediately, so you can tune a build the moment you decide on it. Training Tickets come from the Battle Pass, which you fill by earning ranked Season Points.

Spend Training Tickets while you are still testing a team. Keep your VP for recruiting until the roster is locked in.

Reward

Free Mega Stone

Champions is a Mega-only format, so your first Mega Stone matters. Completing all of the in-game tutorials rewards a free Mega Stone, along with a bundle of VP, Quick Coupons, and Training Tickets. Finish the tutorials before you spend anything, so you start with a Mega and a head start on currency.

The tutorials are the fastest free currency in the game. Clear every one before you ladder.

VGC Tips
  • 01Focus on Pokemon that need fewer move changes to save VP early on.
  • 02Nature changes are expensive — recruit Pokemon with the right nature when possible.
  • 03Mega Stones are the biggest single investment. Choose your Mega wisely.
  • 04Stat Points add up fast across a full team. Prioritize key stats over maxing everything.
  • 05A full team of 6 costs roughly 25,980 VP — plan your roster carefully.
